Benchmark University history includes
nearly two decades of direct experience in the life insurance and
computer industries.
The
principles on the Benchmark management team came from their
prior business experiences, originating in the computer industry during
the 70’s and 80’s.
Benchmark
team members held positions in senior sales at the executive
level, executive management development, training, recruiting, sales
management and senior executive management at IBM.
Benchmark
staff helped build a national sales organization for the Amdahl
Corporation that marketed to AT&T. They were chartered with
taking
a sales organization that had less than 1% of AT&T’s business
and
grew it to more than 78% of AT&T computer acquisitions during a
six
year time frame.
The
overall business produced was in excess of $1 billion dollars. All of
the strategies, systems and processes that Benchmark delivers to their
clients today are a result of their firsthand experiences as field
managers working for IBM and Amdahl.
In
1990, Benchmark was asked by The Creative Financial Group (CFG), which
is a financial services firm located outside of Philadelphia and a part
of MetLife Enterprises, to evaluate whether we could apply what had
been implemented in the computer industry to the development of an
agency in the life insurance industry.
Benchmark
began to work with CFG on every new strategic initiative as an advisor
and coach. This relationship has continued for the last 15 years.
The
results of this pilot agency have grown from a $1M first year
commission base in 1990 to over $24M in 2007. In addition, Benchmark
has packaged these solutions so that other agencies and sales teams can
learn from the strategies.
Benchmark
has worked with more than 6 carriers, 115 Firms, 600 managers, 700
sales teams and 2700 producers/sales professionals to advise them on
how to grow their businesses to a much higher level.
Finally,
Benchmark has been involved with a business owner mastermind
organization (consisting of 280 members), so that it can continue to
provide market leadership through best practices.
